Finish the Picture- The Princess and the Frog
For the “Finish the Picture” project, what I had to do was find a picture in a magazine and cut jus a part of it, and complete the rest of it with a drawing using my creativity. The picture I found was one of a frog using a crown, in an article which talked about guys, and girls finding the correct one. Then, I thought about a way to complete the picture. I love fairy tales, and remembered watching the movie “The princess and the frog”, so I decided to draw a princess kissing the frog. It is very popular the story in which the princess kisses the frog and it becomes a prince, so I wanted to draw it. In my sketchbook, using a pencil, I draw the shape of the princess, using my mother as a model to see how the expressions should look like. Then I colored it with color pencils, and added some shades. Finally, I pasted some pink fluffs I found in my house in the princess’s hat, to make it look nicer and more realistic.
I found this project very nice and it allowed me to show my creativity and my express my imagination. The hardest part, even though it seems very easy, was finding a picture that I liked and which seemed good for the project. I looked in many magazines but couldn’t find the right one, until after looking in all the magazines in class, I found the perfect one. Then the easiest part was drawing with pencil the rest of the picture, because I already had an idea of what I wanted to draw, and it was easy to draw the princess looking at my mother’s expressions in the position that I wanted the princess to be. Then, coloring it and giving it shades took some time but wasn’t difficult at all. I really enjoyed finishing the picture because I could develop my creativity and my techniques to draw. It has been one of my favorite projects.
