Realistic Human Drawing
This project was turned in as the second semester project last year. We had learned in class to draw human faces with the correct proportion. The project consisted in drawing someone who was important for us using the techniques we had learned in class. It had to look realistic and alike to the person we had chosen. I chose to draw one of my best friends whose name is Maria Beatriz Aguilar. I had to look for a picture in which her face was facing front and was really clear. Then, using a pencil, I started drawing the outside of the face and then adding the facial details such as eyes, nose and mouth. Then I ended up shading it and adding some lines which showed her expressions.
As we had learned in class to draw human faces, this project wasn’t so complicated. It just took a lot of time until it looked fine and was finished. However, it was not difficult. The easiest part was first, choosing the person and looking for the picture, and also drawing the outside basic shape of the face. The most difficult part of the project, and the one that took the most time, was drawing her facial features, because the eyes didn’t look fine, the eyebrows looked misshapen, and the mouth was too difficult to draw. I didn’t end up making a mouth that looked exactly as the one in the picture, but the whole drawing turned to be really alike to Maria Beatriz in reality, and I was very proud of it when I finished it.
